Key Stage 2
South Derbyshire Support Centre Key Stage 2 class offers a broad and balanced curriculum based on the National Curriculum. We cover Reading, English, Mathematics and Topic based lessons covering a variety of subjects. The work is differentiated to meet the needs of individual pupils. Pupils are taught in a class of a maximum of ten pupils with three staff, one core teacher and two specialist teaching and learning assistants.
In the afternoon we offer a Nuture based curriculum which supports pupil to develop their own skills to manage their behaviour to enable them to return to mainstream or special school education, depending on their needs. This is also taught in a class of 10 pupils maximum with three staff, one of which is our Nurture Lead.
